Having read all the old Jewish history and learning about how, during the Roman dominance period, small states or less powerful state that had been conquered by Roman force were installed with client kings--basically rulers who were acceptable to Rome.
Rome in return offered protection against their neighbors and other possible aggressors. So guys like Herod and his line were client kings under Roman protection, for a price.Does it appear that modern Israel is a similar client state to the US, and has
been at least since the Six Day War?It sure does to me. It is sorta the North Korea in the China/North Korea relationship, doing some of China's dirty work for it in return for protection/favor.
No.
During Roman times, Roman emperors had no Jewish advisors, Jews weren't majority of Roman administration and Roman emperors haven't married their offsprings to Jews.
