You can't change that so let's focus on things that are not set in stone.

I think bad thing for Novak was a long gap with big match play. He hasn't played top guys (goat level) since AO.

Sinner not being only younger and #1 but has played such match in Rome final. He led there (or held his own quite well) for some time but ultimately faded vs Alcaraz.

He faded in his first match of that kind after his ban so he was in a position that Djokovic was in this match.

It's difficult. It's just something that's pretty much a rule in tennis. There are exceptions but as a rule, you can't just show up and beat the best.

I think Sinner had more power. Djokovic meanwhile lacking a bit his
prime depth, perhaps also movement & consistency from what I watched.

Now I understand why Sinner is #1...

This is the final everyone has been waiting for.

Carlos Alcaraz says his favorite thing about playing Jannik Sinner and
Novak Djokovic is that it gives him feedback on how he can be a better
    player:

“Favorite thing? I enjoy every time I play against them because I love
that battle. You know, most of the time it’s just about suffering.
Because they push you to the limit. My favorite thing is it gives you
the feedback on how I can be better. A better player. I think that’s important and it’s beautiful. Whether I win or not, it gives you a lot
of stats. It gives you the feedback.”

If he's a doper I can't do anything about it either and I can't even know for sure so I'll rather skip that.

    Youth can't, but greatness can.
