It's obviously scripted PR done after some psychological research.

He's made into man-child charicature to appeal to women and to float above everything else.

It's has become way too boring.

There's some logic in not wearing a civilian suit if you're war leader, but if that's the case then it means you're a supreme commander meaning you should wear uniform with ranks and so on, not t-shirt.

He could have worn something more formal, no?

    But then again...

In this second picture only Roosevelt is a smart ass, but ok, he can do it.

But it is *literally* and directly link Trump to a criticism of Zelenksyy's
attire, when in fact no such critism came from Trump...only a minor implied
    compliment--"You're all dressed up."

This is purposefully misleading and deceptive.

I'm very reluctant to disqualify news sources base on their political
stance. But I will still read them for content.

But if it's too egregious, they burn all respect and credibility.

    Bad. Very, very bad...

Is it customary in state visits to the US for the host to comment on the
quests attire? It certainly isn't elsewhere. If you're a diplomat, you'd
think you wanted to avoid things that might, and was, interpreted as
    lack of respect.

You're not objecting to the mascara guy chuckling, and Trump smirking
when the journo made the same comment in the OO. All three knew very
well why Z is dressed as he is. Their mock concern about rispekt was purposefully misleading and egregious. Very, very bad.

Trump waas obviously getting a dig in but the WaPo headline makes it sound worse than it was. The badgering from the
    reporter was much worse.

    Churchill....from your link?

"....Winston Churchill, wearing his siren suit..."

And Modi wears his national costume but I guess he's strong on formal side as well.

One of the things he wears.

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jodhpuri

A Jodhpuri suit, or Bandhgala (lit. closed neck) suit, is a formal suit from India.

So you see actually suit is mentioned in both cases, whether it's ok or not, I don't know but when you say t-shirt you know it's not a suit.
