    withdrew from a slam event after a close first set, in his quest to get a life goal 25 majors single, I'd default to thinking that yep, it was indeed a real injury.Remember that he lost the first set 7-6 and 5; a close loss of only only set. This is the

    I did not watch the match, but of course Djoker was
    really injured. It is one of his greatest goals to
    win Grand Slam championship #25 and he had even
    hired his former enemy Andy Murray to assist him
    in this task.

    I have no idea what injury he had, but I am sure
    he quit because he had no other choice.

    Why did Federer and Nadal quit?

    Because they think they would win or because they don't think so?






    Had he won that TB against Zverev, he would have continued the match.


    We can't tell, we don't know, but sure it's more likely he stays on court if he's 1 set up. And it's even more likely he continues if it was final. This wasn't.


    In the end, SF match is low on his priority list. And these are, or were ahead of that match.

    1. Preserving health
    2. Winning the title or final match
    3. Winning the SF


    If he's going to waste his energy and health to win SF only to be sitting duck in the final or even jeopardize his career, then it's a smart move to retire.

    Besides, we are now given a proper final with two healthy guys, world #1 and #2.

    Is that such a bad thing?
