    Was a pleasure to watch. Popyrin played a monster schedule (including
    double single matches in the same day due to the rain) against great
    opponents and still won. Then he nailed it in the post final ceremony
    with his victory speech. Brilliant!

    What did he say?


    Very nice respectful speech. He said the 1 time his girlfriend isn't
    there he wins the tournament. He said he hopes she'll be there at USO,
    but I think might be better if she stays away : )

    He made a nice speech when he beat Stan in Umag final last yr, said how
    he always idolized Stan etc

    Anyway nice to see an Aussie win a 1000, 1st since Hewitt. 1 million$
    for him is handy too.
