• RG 2024: Sinner beats Moutet

From Kalevi Kolttonen@21:1/5 to All on Sun Jun 2 21:55:51 2024
    Hello!

It was a terrible start by Sinner as he
was soon 5-0 down in the first set. He
then managed to break Moutet once and he
held his serve once, but lost the set 6-2.

If I remember right, Moutet also broke
him right at the start of the second set,
    going to a 1-0 lead.

However, at that point, I was not worried
about Sinner. I knew he would soon get his
act together and after that, Moutet would
    have no chance.

Indeed, after a horrendous start, it was a
    pretty easy win for Sinner.

I have no idea what happened at the start.
Maybe Sinner thought he is going to crush
Moutet, got a bit cocky and was surprised
when his timing was off and Moutet played
    extremely well?

    It was so strange...

    br,
    KK

Might have been the French crowd affecting Sinner in the first set?

It's possible, but Sinner should have expected
that the crowd would support Moutet almost 100%.

I would assume he did, but it can still be a bit unnerving. Moutet also
has a tricky game, I would hate it if someone did a underhanded serve
    against me.
