However it's bizarre that he's a co-record holder at Indian Wells and hasn't won it in 8 years.

He's won all masters titles post his slump, but not these two.
Of course he's been somewhat derailed by those being canceled and then he got banned so it's not like he lost 8 times there in 8 years.
But still.
At this stage of his career it's all about slams and Nadal for Novak.
He's set an impossibly high standard in recent years but realistically
if he can win 1 slam per year he's doing fantastically well. It appears
Nadal is finished, but if something strange happens and he wins FO it
will fire up Novak once again as 24/23 is too close for comfort. It can
go a couple ways, Novak wins Wim/USO to hopefully shut Rafa out for
good, or he really has slipped and a couple of the younger guys get his
number for good. Will be very interesting the next 6 months.
