Sure, but Nadal's huge weakness was hitting very short in the court.
It's almost like Nadal thinks the service line is the baseline. Nadal
playing like this would lose to any good players from the past pretty
easily. You'll note Federer couldn't hit these kind of shots regularly
v Novak because the ball was much deeper in the court. Novak is a much
more intelligent player, he knows hitting short is lethal so doesn't do
it. Nadal plays more on instinct rather than brains. Nadal would have benefited hugely if he had a decent coach. Letting your uncle coach you
is nice, but pretty dumb if you want to maximize your success.
