    Apparently some coaches haven't gotten the memo that back to the basket post play is JUST NOT EFFICIENT/EFFECTIVE.

    The smart teams/coaches get this. Like Alabama actually has a decent big man, but they aren't dumb enough to dump the ball into the post to him and ask him to create from a post move. That's idiotic and going to either lead to a turnover or a miss.
    Even worse, it clogs up the lane for your guards and wings driving for higher efficiency shots.

    Of course the ideal is to have a stretch 5 who can protect the rim, hit the 3, and even switch as well. Those are rare of course, but if they can do 2 out of 3 that's decent. But for god sakes trying to play a big/post man like this is kevin mchale or
    hakeem olajuwon is just absurd. It's a losers strategy.

    You need slashers/drivers(hence you can't have a big guy plomped down on the low block with his defender right there too) who can get to the rim high efficiency shots and then if help comes have them kicking to 3 point shooters. So it's all about the
    efficiency of getting to the rim, getting to the foul line, or getting good lucks from 3s. And you don't do that by playing inside-out today......sorry.

    The nba knows this. I'd just assumed everyone in college basketball now know this as well, but apparently not.

    You're going to have to me more specific, so we know who you are talking about. And, more-so in college than in the NBA, the coaches are limited by the skill of their personnel. Penn State tried the 5-guard strategy, and it worked somewhat but they
    were almost the worst team in both offensive rebounding (360/363) and drawing fouls (361/363), which we knew would cost them at some point.
