Also, it is a little early, but since some teams are now 6-0, here is the early Bowl Eligible list - by my count, there are 40 FBS bowl games (not counting the CFP Championship Game, which is not a "bowl game" for complicated NCAA bylaws purposes), so 9

Would the Committee keep out a 12-1 Alabama/Georgia loser if the Michigan-Ohio State winner, the UCLA-USC winner, and Clemson were all undefeated?

Depends. If Alabama's only loss is to Georgia, and Young is healthy, I think they get in over a Pac-12 school - I am convinced the committee takes injuries into account when choosing the teams. Otherwise, Alabama would have too many close calls (
something else the committee will consider) to warrant getting in over an undefeated USC. An undefeated UCLA, maybe.

That would be consistent with the year Kenyon Martin got injured in Cincinnati's tournament and the basketball Committee took that into account -- so I have no problem with that here.
