So what have we seen so far:Maybe not
Leverkusen really is the hottest team in football and Union is the opposite of hottest.
Kaiserslautern would do no worse in the 1st div than Koln, probably better. The Hoff can lose in low scoring matches.
Manuel Neuer is back.
It is early to say yet, but it's possible that Leroy Sane is actually improving?

Just six Bundesliga sides left in the competition after two rounds, compared to eight from 2. Bundesliga (+Saarbrücken/3. Liga and Homburg/Regionalliga).
Depending on the draw we could see a real surprise team in the revamped Europa League next year.
I for one would be up for a Hamburg v Homburg final.
Ciao,

The other Hamburg put paid to that.
First four quarterfinalists: Kaiserslautern, Düsseldorf, St. Pauli, Mönchengladbach (god that was a boring match).
Today:
Saarbrücken v Frankfurt
Leverkusen v Paderborn
Hertha v HSV
Stuttgart v Dortmund
At least half the teams in the quarterfinals will be from the 2. Bundesliga (or below).

Exactly half the teams in the semifinals will be 2. Bundesliga, one will
be Bundesliga, and then we'll see how Saarbrucken - Gladbach pans out
for the final spot.
Leverkusen is looking good for the double.

Dirty tricks are useless. Saarbrcken - Gladbach 2-1.
The semis are:
Saarbrcken - Kaiserslautern
Leverkusen - Dsseldorf
Very short trips here. When was the last time only one Bundesliga team
made it to the final 4.

I dont remember where these two teams were in the standings of the 3rd
and 2nd div when they won the QF's, but neither are close to promotion now.
The Saarland will rise again. You are all to young to know this, but
Helmut Schoen was the coach of the Saarland team before coaching Germany.

0-0 HT, I would say 3rd div Saarbruken look slightly better, even if
their only offensive tactics are limited to long throws and corner kicks.

Kaisersauze started the 2nd half better and scored early thanks to a bit
of 3rd div goaltending. They will get to lose to Bayer in the final.

3-0 at HT. Wirtz leading Bayer to their first ever cup. Well, not
first ever , they won a UEFA cup back in the 80s. Which is pretty
good since the UEFA cup back then was a real cup, more like the
Champions League today than the Euro cup was, which only had the
champions of the country the UEFA cup had second third and fourth
place teams.
Very short trips here. When was the last time only one
