Too many European teams, too few Oceanian teams. No UEFA co-efficient
type system to justify it. It's totally unfair.

    What do you think?

    Should we boycott it?

Too many European teams? Of course there are, as Europe is where
most of the big club sides in the world reside, so obviously
FIFA wanted to shoe-in as many of the big 'names' as they could.
Wake up, it's not about the football it's about putting bums on
seats in those big stadiums, television rights, corporate
advertising and all the lovely $$$ that rolls-in to FIFA HQ
    from the tournament.

Look how Uncle Gianni got Inter-Miami in to the tournament, just
because of Lionel Messi... he even tried his best to get Ronaldo
in too... it's all about the money.

Sure, there is a trophy at the end of it, but in the big scheme
of things what does that title mean really?

    What do you think?

    I think it's a stupid cash-grab of a tournament played at the
wrong time and for the wrong reasons.

    Should we boycott it?

If you don't like the tournament don't watch any of the games.
Calling it a boycott is a bit OTT though. Boycotts are
for self-important people who like to draw attention to
themselves by boycotting something and telling everybody that
    they are!

However, I will watch the Chelsea games, work permitting...
and boycott the rest of the games in sympathy with you! ;-)

No, we should pay for DAZN subscriptions, buy in a crate of Budweiser
(the official beer of the FIFA Club World Cup!) and enjoy the show!

Seriously, the prize money on offer is going to make this thing as
sought after as the UEFA Champions League. This is not some gimmick but
the future of club World football. I appreciate people may have
misgivings but collectively we’re just a bunch of guys on a newsgroup
who’s glory days ended many years ago. There is nothing we can do about
this thing, so we may as well just st enjoy the ride.

    First game: 0-0. Zzzzzzzzzzz

There is more exactment happening in Edmonton/Florida where the real
sport is being played and you get games that are actually exciting to
    watch.

0-0? - People pay money to sit and watch a game for two hours with no
    goals? Bwahahaha.

That's nearly over now... in fact it could be all over on
Tuesday. It has been an exciting series though. I hope it
    goes to the seventh game.

Bring back the NASL style shootouts... Uncle Gianni missed a
trick there. The Yanks would love that!

    You recall the NASL ?

Who doesn't remember the New York Cosmos with such footballing
greats like Pele, Chinaglia... and Dennis Tueart!

Visiting the cousins in the US and watching the "soccer" on
their TV was like being in a different world to me as a kid. I
    loved the NASL.
