From Jesper Lauridsen@21:1/5 to All on Fri May 16 09:09:36 2025
All matches Saturday 15:30. 2. Bundesliga play their matches Sunday.

    Sat
    Leipzig - Stuttgart
Bulls can get conference league if Mainz slip up. 3-1

    Dortmund - Kiel
BVB will get CL with a 2+ goal win. A draw could also do it (and will
give EL). At home against a small team in the final round - when has
    that ever gone wrong?
Kiel MUST score to remain the only BL team to score in every away match
    in their BL history. 3-1

    Hoffenheim - Bayern
Hoff could still go into the playoff if the other heim makes up 3 point
    and 6+ goals. 2-4

    Heidenheim - Werder
Werder could win 10-0 and it still wouldn't be enough goals for the
    conference. 3-2

    Freiburg - Frankfurt
Match of the day. Winner gets CL - Loser gets eaten by Dortmund. 3-2

    Augsburg - Union
    Pointless game. 2-1

    Mainz - Leverkusen
Linguistic question: In Danish we have the slick phrase "sidste mand
lukker og slukker" - literally "last one to leave switches off (the
lights) and locks up". Is there an equivalent phrase is English? It
    would be relevant for Leverkusen.
    2-1

    Gladbach - Wolfsburg
    Pointless part 2. 2-2

    Pauli - Bochum
    Pointless part 3. 2-0

    Last Day of football.

BvB gets an early penal and right now would make UCL, but lots of time left.

The Hoff are still safe, for now, but lotsa time left.

So that is it, no more real football left until next season. May as
well talk about the Ice Hockey.

    How bout those Leafs eh!

Anyhow, The Hoff avoids relegation, Bayern, Bayer, BVB and Eintracht
    make UCL.

Mainz and Freiburg make Europa and I think the winner of the Pokal also
    gets a Europa spot.

Good point. How has it been in the last seasons?

Perhaps our collective biases are shaped too much
by the results of the previous year, which will
deviate from reality on the pitch the longer the
    season goes.

Up the Algo! I wonder how the algo would have fared if it had stuck

Heidi v Jenny, so to speak

Jenny Elversberg 2-0 up at half-time of the first leg, VARobots took
away a goal from Heidi just before the break.

Saarland back in the Bundesliga after 32 years? If Spurs can win a
    title anything is possible.

Honestly, what _did_ happen to Wanner?

Came on in the 2nd half and played pretty well.

2-2 FT. Everything to play for next Monday.

Would Elversberg be the 4th team (ever) from the Saarland, after FC Saarbrucken, FC Homburg, and Borussia Neunkirchen ?

Leipzig misses out on Europe (Salzburg could still make CL).

Unlikely though. Still, Salzburg in Conference League
could be a blessing in disguise for the Austrian
    coefficient.

If I read the table right, they need to win their own game against
Rapid, Sturm not to lose against Wolfsberger, and Linz to get a point
against Austria. The last one is against the odds, but the other two aren't.

    So, 30% chance?

Elversberg - Heidenheim 1-2. The fairytale is over - or continues,
    depending on perspective.

Saarbrucken had the chance to promoted to 2. Bundesliga via a playoff
against Braunschweig. Lost 0-2, but "won" 2-0 away to take it to extra
time. Here Braunschweig won 2-0 again and remains in the league.

In the 3. Liga promotion playoff, TSV Havelse prevailed over Lok Leipzig
in extra time. This is the second time Havelse is promoted via this
playoff - and the second time Lok Leipzig fails.

In the current format of rotating playoffs, the record of Regionalliga
Nordost is now 0-4. Regionalliga Nord is 4-1.
