    I have looked at the footage, no foul. Onana pushed the defender
    away and wasn't good enough to jump and get the ball.

    Goal-keepers get too much protection.

    He is Portuguese, so in some owners eyes that instantly makes
    him a TOP manager.

    But if your players are average it doesn't matter who is in
    charge.

    Amorim seems like a nice guy but I'm not sure he's the right fit
    there... those players look like they need a good arse kicking.

    slightest touch and they call a foul. Football isn't a
    non-contact sport.

    On the other hand, it used to be that keepers could get away
    with murder when punching out crosses especially inside their
    six-yard-box, which has thankfully been reduced a lot by
    changed refereeing standards and VAR.

    All I want to see is consistency... one day day a shove in the
    box can be penalised and on another day a similar shove could be
    let go. Different referees seem to have different thresholds,
    VAR has not really corrected that. It has helped, but it often
    depends on what referee is doing the VAR.

    Goalkeepers have always been given way too much protection at
    corners from referees... they are not made of paper or going to
    break from a nudge here or there when a ball is played in!
