    It's starting; the first ever North American Championship for women's
    football clubs!

    11 teams from 7 countries. 3 from USA and 3 from Mexico; 1 from each of
    the other countries. Why is it only 7 countries? And why 3 from USA and
    Mexico and only 1 from each of the other countries?

    And it's a weird format.

    Anyway, my 3rd favourite team, Portland Thorns, play their 1st game on
    Sep 4. If I remember correctly, they're playing at home against
    America, of Mexico.

    I mis-remembered the name of the tournament. It's actually the CONCACAF
    W Champions Cup, not League, which makes more sense as only 1 round of
    it is played on a league basis.

    Portland beat America 3-1.
