    Slovakia - Romania

    Ukraine - Belgium

    Group E standings:

    1st Romania 3pts + 1 GD

    2nd Belgium 3pts +1 GD

    3rd Slovakia 3pts 0 GD

    4th Ukraine 3pts -2 GD

    Everything to play for!

Head to heads to keep an eye on in the event teams finish on the same
    points:

    Romania beat Ukraine

    Slovakia beat Belgium

    Belgium beat Romania

    Ukraine beat Slovakia

    Group F

    Portugal - Georgia

    Czechia - Turkey

    1st Portugal 6pts +4 GD

    2nd Turkey 3pts -1 GD

    3rd Czechia 1pt -1 GD

    4th Georgia 1pt -2GD

    The outlook:

Portugal have already won the group and can afford to field a reserve
    team.

Turkey would guarantee second place with a draw by virtue of their
better head to head than Georgia. A two goal defeat would mean Turkey
advance as a third place side ahead of Hungary on goals scored.

Czech Republic need a win to qualify. No other result will do.

Georgia can finish second if they beat Portugal, Czechia beats Turkey
and they manage to come out with a better goal difference than Czechia.

Also, given Belgium is the designated home team and their primary home
kit colour is red and their opponents are in all yellow, where is the justification for wearing an away kit? I sincerely hope UEFA aren't
suggesting that a little bit of yellow trim down the side of the Belgium
home shirt amounts to a colour clash with Ukraine's all yellow kit?

The video ref correctly gave us a penalty. This definitely never would

But I hve to wonder, do the slovakians know that a draw sees them

in the end it was 1 - 1 and everybody was happy.

First of all Romania of course - we won the group !!! Belgium weren't
able to beat Ukraine and it ended in a goalless draw. This is clearly
and totally a gift from them.

It couldn't have ended better. We might get an easier opponent in the
next game, or maybe not, anyway the result is excellent. A good start
for Edi Iordanescu (as you probably know, he's the son of Anghel
Iordanescu, our coach from 94). With some luck but still.

All 4 teams finishing level on 4 points is very strange. Somebody has
to go home. And Ukraine probably actually were the weakest team. Though
I really would have thought Belgium will beat them. They had reason to
play their best. Well, luckily for us it didn't happen. :)

I am shocked, shocked that it ended 1-1. There were about 6 minutes of highlights, with the last serious goal threat coming around the 75th
minute, so I'd say the teams did a good job of making it look like a

It's pretty chippy in CZE-TUR, and I would not be surprised if there
were more red cards in this one.

As I type, Jurasek misses a 1v1. Good job by the keeper. TUR hasn't done
much with their one-man advantage, and the Czechs look threatening on

Turkey are playing like they know a draw will do - certainly not giving
100%. A risky approach in that the opponent only has to score once to
knock you out, as Czechia very nearly did when they broke away one on
    one just before half time.

No sympathy to Barak for the sending off, both incidents were
justifiable yellow cards. On a yellow he shouldn't have gone in for that
    second challenge.

Czechia players are diving around to break up the play and have already
drawn an unwarranted yellow for Yildiz for a "push" (his natural
momentum took him into the Czech player as far as I could see).

Georgia beating Portugal reserves 1-0. So Turkey currently in second
place but if they concede one goal they go out. It's on a knife edge.

Czechia's centimeters pay off, the 199cm tall Choury does enough to make

    Ciao,

They've absolutely no reason to be furious, the sending off for two
yellows was justified and they wouldn't have even got back into the game
had they not been allowed to get away with too much physical play in the
    second half.

While we're talking about fair play, special thanks to Portugal for
fielding a reserve team in what was (for the group as a whole) a crucial
match, something which, if the result in Hamburg had gone another way,
could have contributed to another side being eliminated.

In the words of Clive Alphonso, later echoed by The Clash: "Don't ya'
know it is wrong?, To cheat the tryin' man..., Don't ya know it is
    wrong...?"

Pushing and shoving between both sets of players after the match, with a further Czech player receiving a red card and Guler receiving a yellow.
