• screensaver or slideshow app

    Hi.
There used to be a really cool screensaver called drempels.

    http://www.geisswerks.com/drempels/

Somehow it doesn't seem to work anymore on my current w10
computer, so I was wondering if anyone knows an alternative that
    works in a similar fashion.

The idea is that you point it to a folder where you have a bunch of
images and it will do a kind of slideshow with those images, but in
a groovy way, where it morphs and transforms the images into
each other, so you get more variation than in a regular slideshow.

It would be really awesome if it didn't just have the ability to do
the slideshow on the desktop in the background or as a screensaver,
but also in a window, so you can enjoy the slideshow while engaging
in other activities on the computer.

I use gPhotoShow as a screensaver (https://www.gphotoshow.com/gpshow_free.htm). It seems to fulfill all your requirements except the 'slideshow in a window' one (it might do it but I've never tried). There's a free and a Pro (paid) version. It also
works across a network for an attached drive.

No connection with it; just a happy user.

    Cheers,
    Magani

Thanks for the suggestion.. sadly it doesn't seem to do a slideshow in a window, which is
    kind of essential to me.
Irfanview does it more or less, except it does it in a designated area on the screen, which isn't
as convenient as a proper window like acdsee does, which is easier to resize and quickly toggle
between image display and thumbnail overview.
