    And he is back after 89 hours and close to -10 degrees Celsius weather!y

    This is what cats do. Whether or not they are 'officially' outdoor cats or not.

    Gulliver, a 100% indoor cat living on the 4th floor of an apartment building got out one day when a neighbor stood in the doorway just a bit too long. Got to the open fire escape. Came back thin-but-happy as soon as the weather got cold (95 days). He
    stood at the front door of the apartment house until someone (who knew him) let him in. He spend the rest of his life happily as an indoor cat. only he had more space when I purchased my first house.

    Boswell, an indoor/outdoor cat in a low-traffic safe neighborhood with lots of cats went on a vision quest for 63 days. We found him sleeping on our pillow one evening. Sleek. well fed, and happy,. Never wandered again.

    Both were neutered, by the way. So no 'kittens'.
