Still a hefty fine for a small business.
Yep, the negative publicity alone would have probably been
enough to kill the business. Mr. Melissa did not help himself by
immediately going on talk radio to complain about the way he was being
horribly mistreated, and disclose the names and address of the couple
who made the complaint--insuring maximum harassment for them. If they
ever pay a fine it will come from donations, with a hefty sum left
over. Their lawyers are working for free and vow to fight on.

The orange goon oughta hire their lawyers! HawHawHaw!
eh, Both teams seem to be equally good at stalling. I'm sure the
orange outrage's lawyers work hard for their money. I don't think Rudy
ever got paid for his work. The orange outrage's current lawyers are
probably keeping a close eye on the money.
Mr. and Mrs. Sweet Cakes' lawyers? Not so much. They're shuffling a
few papers for the publicity. So they're in no rush. And they get paid,
win, lose, or draw. This organization is providing the lawyers for Mr.
and Mrs. Sweet Cakes:

Sweet Cakes from their point of view.

I think that "business" was doomed from the start. These were
amateurs who didn't realize that making the cakes is the easy part of
the business. If you want to make a living selling expensive cakes the
really hard part of the business is the work and money involved in
selling those cakes. The people who make a living selling wedding cakes
give away far more cake at bridal events than they actually sell.
