All that and Fauxcahontas’ candidate is still a step to the left.
Your black and white world view doesn't leave you much room, if >> any, to understand what's going on here. The only thing that moved to
the left is the candidate. Oregonians didn't change and the candidate
has not been elected yet. She's facing a credible Republican
challenger. The main reason Biden endorsed Schrader in the first
place, even though he was a significant opponent of his drug pricing
reform bill, is because he's considered more electable than the
"progressive" Democrat who won the position because we essentially
fired her predecessor for malfeasance. I don't think a lot of people
really voted for her. They mostly voted against him.

I couldn't care less what happens politically in Oregon. It's not like
you people will suddenly get brain transplants and become intelligent. However, if they elected a leftist candidate, it was a move to the left,
and there isn't much more room to move left in the PNW, politically or geographically.
LOL Oregon isn't nearly as far left as you think it is. Until I
got redistricted into a new congressional district my congress critter
here in the most "liberal" part of the state was a Republican. The new
district is so evenly split I could easily end up with another
Republican congress critter again this time around. The Republican
running in the race that caught your attention is the mayor of Happy
Valley, which is another Portland suburb on the other side of town. No
one has ruled her out as a potential winner.
While the voters haven't shifted the congressional districts did.
Schrader was the incumbent in his old district, but he ended up with a
lot of voters who had never met him and really had no idea who he was in
the new district.
For you the fun race here is likely to be the contest for
governor. Normally this would be a yawner too, but it will probably be a
three way race, which gives the Republican candidate a shot. The
Republicans have nominated a "moderate" Republican. Around here that
means she starts dancing when asked if Biden really won the election,
instead of declaring herself a full fledged member of the cult. She won
the nomination with only 24% of the vote, so she has an uphill battle.
The "independent" candidate is planning to get on the ballot by
collecting signatures. She's trying to take a position between the two
major party candidates. She says that as an independent she's the only
person who can force the two parties to cooperate. She was hoping to run against a full fledged member of the cult. Even if she had gotten her
wish I don't think she stands much of chance. Her campaign depends on
donations from a small number of people with deep pockets. Schrader
spent far more than his opponent and he still lost.
The Democrat's candidate is someone you'll love to hate. She is one
of the leaders of the Democrats here and won the nomination with 54% of
the vote. She's married to a woman. Part of the reason she won the
nomination was her work to secure women's ability to get an abortion in
Oregon. Given the situation the Republicans have handed her she's the
most likely winner, but it isn't a sure thing.

Your world view depends far too much on left and right. There is a
lot more than that going on, even though all of that is far too
complicated for you to understand.
