Wildcat Mountain was a nice little place to stay. They have around 25
RV sites with electric only. There is a dump station in the park, but
no water or sewer hookups. The horse campground area has 24 sites, and
I heard each site has access to water there. There is also a cart-in
area with 20 spots for those tenting, with no electricity. They also
have 3 separate areas for group camping you can reserve with two having
a 25 person capacity and one a 50 person capacity.
The park is in what is called the Kickapoo Valley, with the Kickapoo
river going thru the park. This is an extremely popular kayaking and
fishing river in western Wisconsin. It is a hilly and very beautiful
area. Horses are also big and the park has miles of trails for that and connects to some that go outside the park.
We didn't shower in their facilities, but they were clean and easy to
get to. The whole park was clean, and kept up. The 30 amp service
didn't work at our site, but I was able to use a 120 volt 20 Amp. Next
day a girl ranger came out to fix it. I ended up doing it for her,
luckily she had a new breaker that was needed. She was a sweet 20
something girl with the most beautiful blue eyes, and a great attitude.

We hiked and had a good time, right up until the rains came. Even then,
it felt like an adventure being about 3 miles from home, on narrow,
hilly, muddy horse trails filled with running water. We made it back,
dried out and sat under the canopy with some nice fresh coffee.

I'm not into kayaking, and sold my saddle before the wife wanted to put
another horse under it, but if those things interest you this is a great
place to stay!
