My take is... well, I have not take on these gutiars never having played one. My issue is plunking down $2,000 USD for a Chinese made guitar, when you know the Chinese craftsman make little to nothing for their efforts.
I'm not saying that Eastman guitars are the greatest guitars on the planet... they may well be.
Could I be talked into spending $2,000 for an exceptional off-shore guitar that is equivalent to a $5,000 US product? Maybe, but I personally still have a problem chunking down 2 grand for a Chinese, Korean, or Mexican guitar.
Eastman guitars are made by skilled craftsmen who are not shafted like the ones making Epiphones, Harley Benton, Firefly, and any number of guitars made in a single factory. Eastman is a one brand shop, not a multi brand factory. It has no CNC machines,
and they are made by US, Canadian, as well as Chinese master craftsmen who are well paid for what they do. They're a lot better than the crap Gibson puts out, with USA Stamped on the back, and made by trained Minorities who probably get paid a hell of a
lot less than Eastman employees. You can however pay $6-8000.00 for a CS Gibson with crappy QC, terrible binding, or less than $2000 for a perfect Custom guitar.
