I recently bought a used Roland MS-1, and promptly tried to update the
system software using the update on the Roland web site. (This update is actually a MIDI file that you load into your sequencer and playback with the PC's MIDI OUT connected to the MS-1).
Well, the update process failed towards the end and now the only thing I get is a "checksum error" when I power it on.
I tried updating again from the 0_s112s.mid file, but I keep getting the
same error (I found 2 different versions of this MIDI file on 2 different Roland web sites, and the files have different file sizes!)
Does anyone have a clean copy of this MIDI file containing the MS-1 update code they can e-mail me? I think the version on the Roland web site is corrupted or something.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Right now my MS-1 makes a nice paperweight but that's about it, unless I can get the operating system reloaded into it!
Thanks,
Adrian Proctor

Did you ever find a fix for this? I'm dealing with the same issue...
