    The more I listen to the Esmé Quartet
    the more impressed I am. To my ears,
    the Esmés sound the closest to the
    1958-1966 Juilliards that I hold as
    the pinnacle of the string quartet
    art, with their combination of tight
    ensemble work, flair, drama, and
    perfectly polished execution.

    This formation is for me one of the most extraordinary discoveries of
    these last ten or twenty years... Quite simply one of the greatest
    string quartets of the History... I do not hesitate to affirm it...
    And I owe this discovery to my friend koko, without whom my life would
    simply have no meaning...

    One would hope so. They are just at the
    beginning of their career(s). Playing in a
    string quartet is the hardest music job.
