Come on guys, you can do better. There must be dozens if not hundreds
more. Let's have a completely comprehensive list of completely pointless youtube (etc.) links, all of which (at least the youtube ones) any
readers could find for themselves. Actual opinions not welcpme.

Each one of my links is interesting for a special reason. Here’s a key.

    Smith - lute

    Rübsam - lute harpsichord

    Malov - shoulder cello

    Carter - organ

    Verbrüggen - recorder

    Pandolfo - gamba

    Mayer - double bass

    Podger - violin

    Grygorian - guitar

Ugadawa - gamba and empfindsamer style

    Tomaso - 5 stringed cello (I think it’s called a Corelli cello)

    Zeuthen - dancing

Kirschbaum - a “cello beautiful” performance

    Demenga - (quasi) sprachgesang

    Carr - nice IMO

    Suzuki - patrician

    Luckert - cheerful

Are any of the above interesting for
    tone, touch, phrasing and expression?

    Thx

Each one of my links is interesting for a special reason. Here’s a key.

    Smith - lute

    Rübsam - lute harpsichord

    Malov - shoulder cello

    Carter - organ

    Verbrüggen - recorder

    Pandolfo - gamba

    Mayer - double bass

    Podger - violin

    Grygorian - guitar

Ugadawa - gamba and empfindsamer style

    Tomaso - 5 stringed cello (I think it’s called a Corelli cello)

    Zeuthen - dancing

Kirschbaum - a “cello beautiful” performance

    Demenga - (quasi) sprachgesang

    Carr - nice IMO

    Suzuki - patrician

    Luckert - cheerful

Are any of the above interesting for
    tone, touch, phrasing and expression?

    Thx

If I had to choose a favourite from those it would probably be Pandolfo. And Smith maybe. But my favourites change all the time.

Phrasing is a big deal in this music because of the Anna Magdamena phrase markings. There are one or two how follow her manuscript, none of those on the list though.

I can't stand the bloody things. I'm a double bass player and I had to play some of the first one on bass. Horrible sound that put me off forever. Bass players now play these at pitch. Madness.

I heard Gary Karr do one live and though he's a big virtuoso bassist it was barely listenable.

Double bass players should play jazz and leave classical music alone - the solo repertoire is absolutely dire with no exceptions. Good for chamber music, though, like Soldiers Tale and can be useful in modern works like L'Enfant et les Sortileges. But
    for Bach, cello only PLEASE.

That works only for those who have absolutely noting else to do in life than watching 50 to 100 videos daily.

That's a good idea. But still it can be too much. Unless someone is really very interested in exploring all those videos and comparing them.

One of the silliest notions promulgated here is that, now that there
are roughly 1000 choices instead of 3 available, people no longer
need or want advice on what to hear....

I wouldn't even mention this notion, since it's clearly insane, but
I've seen others repeat it, hypnotized I suppose....
