Absolutely! To my ears, Bashkirov
delivered the finest Brahms I ever
heard live, except for Volodos, who
studied with him.
Bashkirov's op. 76 no. 2 has never
been matched -- not by Rubinstein
nor by Volodos or anyone else. In
the days of cassette players it was
residing permanently in my Audi's
cassette player.
