    And I like it. In fact the only thing I don't like on the CD is the Beethoven.

    I'm going to hear him do the programme at Wigmore next Friday - it'll be interesting to see how much of the colourfulness of the recording -- which for me is a major part of its charm -- is due to sound engineering effects.
