Count in what sense? She is obviously one of
the more prominent women conductors, and
she is quite good -- certainly better than that
Klaus clown. I would not rank her the same
level as Tomomi. OTOH she is younger and
has time to grow.
Here are side by side Tchaikovsky 5th live
performances by Alondra and Tomomi:

Both are great readings. Figure out which
one you like better. Essays due by Sunday.
Herman is excused.
De la Parra wins this one. Not even close. In
fact probably one of the best Tchaik 5ths I've
heard.
De la Parra's performance comes across more
lively and more in one's face, partly as a result
of being recorded more closely. It also sounds
rather rough in places. The QSO is no match
for the Bolshoi, which sounds more integrated.
Tomomi's reading manages flow and tension
in manner that keeps one on the seat's edge.
What I find fascinating in Tomomi's reading is
a cross between Mravinsky's relentless forward
momentum with Celi's rhythmic flexibility and
subtle phrasing, which I never imagined would
be possible.
