Hello! Please, has anyone the exceptional collection (or some CD's) of Grieg piano pieces by Einar Steen-Nøkleberg?Yes I’ve heard some of the Lyric Pieces and the big op 24 variations. I am always struck by his elegance and poise, and the feeling of control and clear vision. Such patrician playing!
Cheers!
Vitor.

I like Steen-Nøkleberg's Grieg, too. Howie's chosen adjective ('patrician') does ring true. These are great works, and I find I seldom hear them played in a style with which I find great disagreement. Integrales are few and far between, but one Ireally enjoy often is Antonio Pompa-Baldi on Centaur. I believe most or all of the discs are o.o.p. Recorded in the aughts.
In article <[email protected]>,Thanks Alan, I checked the site but as I live in Brazil the collection will take so much time to arrive and I need Nokleberg recording with some urgency to a university research. That "clear vision" strikes me too, thanks Mandryka.

I hope that's over with, but of course I don't know.
Presto also offers the indiviual volumes in that set - see this search: https://www.prestomusic.com/classical/search?search_query=einar%20grieg
And the key point is that each is available for download, MP3 for $7.00
or FLAC (CD-quality) for $8.50. So, more expensive than the full CD
set, but no shipping costs and available quickly.
