Discounting the Taylor Swift crowd who buy new vinyl because it's kewl, I do wonder about people with enormous quantities of LPs who still play them. You see, there haven't really been any new classical CDs for about 30 years, so their owners must either
play them very, very rarely or else cope with worn grooves, snaps, crackles, pops, etc. which, however carefully handled, LPs tend to acquire down the years. I dumped all my LPs simply because they were unplayable, but My Son The Trombonist was able to
create digital files from a couple of them that were not available as replacement CDs.
