I saw two Richter/Schubert CDs in our local used CD store, and
having heard so many people rave about Richter in this group,
I am thinking about checking them out and would like to get
some input.
The CDs are:
1) Schubert D850 and Weber Sonata #3, Praga (live, 1953, mono?)
2) Schubert D665 (? - an early sonata, without the last mvt.)
and D960, Music and Arts (from Aldeburgh, 1964).
The CD jacket listed the first mvt. of D960 as ~ 25 minutes long,
which is a whole 10 (+/- 1) minutes longer than my Rubinstien
recording!! Did Rubinstien skip some repeats, or did Richter just
take the mvt. VERY slowly?
Thanks!
