    Thanks for the links. Somehow I'd never heard this before (even though apparently it's been on YouTube for over a decade). Sonic challenges aside, as Henry Fogel states in the brief mention in the article, it surely is "conducted with remarkable
    fluidity and flexibility;" indeed Schoenberg's approach is downright romantic - all the more extraordinary coming in the midst of his serial leadership, as it sounds more like a throwback to Verklarte Nacht and Pelleas.

    I should add that it's a shame that Schoenberg only conducted the second movement; it would have been enthralling to have heard him leading the more dramatic odd-numbered movements.
