Yes, "Love Potion No. 9" is great. And I'm glad both versions are
included here. I also like "Stay Awhile," "Burning Fire," and "Have Gun,
Will Travel." The Clovers further served up a new version of "Yes It's
You" that I rather enjoyed. Their take on the Wade Flemons R&B hit,
"Easy Lovin'," was decent enough. And the group did justice to Joe
Liggins with a fine remake of "The Honeydripper." But those are the >exceptions.
In large part, the CD consists of pedestrian remakes of standards like >"Pennies From Heaven," "My Mother's Eyes," and "That Old Black Magic."
Most of the original songs, like "Rock and Roll Tango" and "The Sheik," >sounds like material the Coasters rejected. And there's a flaccid re-do
of "One Mint Julep," complete with a swingin', jazzy arrangement. For >not-so-good measure, they also do a number ("Noni Cosi") in Italian!
(Thanks Dean, I now have this LP in its own .mp3s folder)
For fun, etc, I asked Copilot:

Here's a breakdown of the song titles mentioned under the two
categories based on the appraisal:

- Stay Awhile
- Burning Fire
- Have Gun, Will Travel
- Yes It's You (new version by The Clovers)

- That Old Black Magic (remake)

- The Sheik
- One Mint Julep (flaccid re-do with jazzy arrangement)

It's a rather mixed bag of tracks! Let me know if you'd like further
assistance with this list or related topics. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
I then asked Copilot:
from 1991 album "The Clovers The Best Of The Clovers (Love Potion
No. 9)", which songs were not mentioned in the appraisal? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
