Recently heard this for the first time in a movie that Diane and I saw,
"The Six Triple Eight." Scat singing is not really my thing, and Diane
really doesn't like it, but this record was very impressive to me with
Ella keeping it up a mile a minute for the whole song.

I'm very surprised that Roger did not include it in the 1952 battle.

Why are you surprised? We never heard of it either.
I guess this makes me a nerd, but it annoys the hell out of me when they
use a record from 1952 to represent what people were dancing to in 1945.
Me too, but while we were watching I had no idea that it was from so
late. I'm guessing that Roger did know the record when he did the
battles. Let's see what he says.
I didn't think Ella did much of importance in 1952 to include in the
contest that year. I included her version of "Trying" as it charted but
that was all.
I'm not a big fan of the type of scat singing being discussed here I had
heard the record before but its not really my thing.
