    Years ago, I heard this on a local college station, had never heard it before,  and didn't catch the name of it. All I caught was Fine Brown

    I did not know the Kinks did it, but here is the Yardbirds' version

    I liked the Kinks too, saw them live once, but recoiled when I (much
    later) heard their early attempts at R&B. They were wise to give that
    up and find their own unique sound.

    Here is the best version by a white artist I've ever heard. He's

    One I personally can't stand but how about The Who (as "The High
    Numbers") who on an early record rip off "Got Love If You Want It" on
    their "I'm The Face"
