I have two mp3's credited to Jack McVea and dated 1948. One is called
"H.P. Boogie" and the other is "B.B. Boogie." The Blues Discography
doesn't list either one, although McVea made about 20 records with
"Boogie" in the title. I'm wondering if maybe the pianist is the artist
on the label and McVea just played sax on the record. Anyone know?
Thanks DEM
Here's a clue. Both sides were issued on the same Comet lsingle as by
Jack McVea and his All Stars. The "H.P. Boogie" writer credit is
McVea. The "B.B. Boogie" tiitle is credited to both McVea and Mosley.
Bob Mosley payed piano on other titles by McVea. But Bob Mosley also
recorded under his own name like on Apollo, "B-Flat Boogie," 1946.
