• Samp's writeup on Savoy Records

From Bruce@21:1/5 to All on Tue Jan 21 01:11:36 2025
    https://www.spontaneouslunacy.net/savoy-records/

    It includes this passage:

Teddy Reig, who was a notorious thief himself but had overseen the
label’s entire jazz department in making it the envy of the industry,
left to start his own company in the 1950’s, calling Lubinsky “a little mental patient” on his way out.

    That's truly interesting. Thanks Bruce.

Thanks to https://anorakrockabilly45rpm.blogspot.com/ I have many
Savoy 78rpm recordings ('rockabilly45rpm' in url is very misleading),
including the Jazz sides on this page: https://anorakrockabilly45rpm.blogspot.com/search/label/Savoy%20%28NJ%29

left to start his own company in the 1950s, calling Lubinsky a little >mental patient on his way out.

Could this "mental" attribute have been in his genes...

I'm not claiming this to be the best search criteria, but one can
learn much about 40s/50s Savoy Records (and Herman Lubinsky) with a
Google search for "Blog site Savoy records" - there are countless
relevant links found, page after page.
