I remember thinking that was anachronistic--Tony was supposed to have
been born in 1960. A Coasters record from before he was born probably
wouldn't have been top of mind for him.
What may have been on his mind was "The Blackboard Jungle," in which the "delinquents" call the teacher Daddy-O. Lieber/Stoller may have gotten
it from
there, and may even been referring to it (since r'n'r was thought to
have been
kickstarted by the very loud use of "Rock Around The Clock" over the credits).
Tony knew oldies. He listened to CBS-FM and the show often used songs
from with before he was born or when he was a baby. He hung out with a
lot of older guys too, like Paulie and Hesch. I'm sure he was familiar
with "Charlie Brown."
