    It was recorded earlier with a different lead singer, I think, so I
    don't know if you really should call it an alternate version. In any
    event I agree it's better, a 9 for me. Maybe even a 10. A real
    feel-good record.

    The December 1952 release on Federal was recorded Sep 17 with
    Dave McNeil as lead singer.

    The earlier unreleased Federal recording was made on Jan 28 with
    expert opinion leaning towards Joe Lamont, rather than Billy Ward,
    being the lead singer.

    So what are the significant aural differences? - a YT link will do.
