Your subject truncated where it did because it tries to truncate at the end
of a word, and the next part is '-A-Ling:IMPERIAL' which looks like a word
because there are no spaces.
You are not giving enough detailed logic here, Retro Guy,
enough to be of practical help in constructing subjects/titles.
this was not truncated:
If you read the article you posted (click on it, or read it with a >>>>>newsreader), you will see the subject line remains intact.

this was truncated:

I see a bug!
I'll work on this today and reply back when I get somewhere.
I do have a doctor appt in a couple of hours, so there will be a bit of a >>> delay.
I found the problem. It's due to the subject being encoded on posting, and being multi-line. The second line was being discarded. It now displays (on a test site) as:
REVIEW-Dave Bartholomew-“Little Girl Sing Ding-A-Ling”:IMPERIAL 5210;N >> so it is being truncated at the pre-defined 69 characters.
I have it working properly now on a test site, but need to do some testing to make sure it doesn't break anything else. I'll keep at it for a bit.
THank you for your efforts in solving this. It is much appreciated
