    He’s So Fine – Chiffons

Not a big fan of this Chiffons thing. "One Fine Day" is much better IMO. I'd go for "Surf City" under my rules and "She Loves You" under your rules.

    WORST HOT 100 No.1 SINGLE FROM 1963

    Dominique – Singing Nun

Under my rules it would be "Telstar" again, and under your rules it would be "There I've Said It Again."

    BEST R&B No.1 SINGLE FROM 1963

    Hello Stranger – Barbara Lewis

This would be "It's All Right," no contest.

    WORST R&B No.1 SINGLE FROM 1963

Sugar Shack – Jimmy Gilmer & Fireballs

This would be "I Will Follow Him."

    BEST C&W NO.1 SINGLE FROM 1963

Ring Of Fire – Johnny Cash

    In my system "Ruby Ann."

    WORST C&W NO.1 SINGLE FROM 1963

    Still – Bill Anderson

Mine would be "Talk Back Trembling Lips."

BEST UK ARTST SINGLE FROM 1963

    Please Please Me – Beatles

Mine would be "Glad All Over" but yours is also a great record.

Okay, you won't post the entire list, but why only 50 with 10 extras?

Why not at least a top 100?

Let's see what happens with the sixties first. It will make a change to talk about these years

    63. The Further You Look The Less You See - Temptations

    Don't think much of this, a 5.

    65. What Kind Of Fool (Do You Think I Am) - Tams

I started puking when I was reading this, thinking it was gonna be "What Kind Of Fool Am I" by Sammy, or, even worse, Newley.

    71. A Love Like Yours (Don’t Come Knocking Everyday) - Martha & Vandellas

Never thought much of this, just a 4.

    79. When You Walked Out - Arcados

Never heard of this before, lotta Flamingos on End influence I think.

    85. I’m Evil - Lightnin’ Slim

Had this in '62. Discogs says 1963.

    89. Do Somethin’ Baby - Browley Guy

Whatever this is, it's not on Youtube, Can you send me the MP3?

    90. You’ll Want Me Back - Impressions

I thought I had all of their good records from this era. Don't think I've ever even heard this one before. I see it's the flip of "It's All Right." Can do without the organ, but it gets a 6.

    95. Forever - Marvelettes

Diane hates this for some reason. BTW, it's from 1962, on this album:

    https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album/the-marvelettes/playboy/

    98. The Day - Enchanters

Never heard of this, don't like it. Fucking organ.

    99. Watch That Stuff - Good Time Charlie

Not on Youtube. Never heard of it. Might I like it?

    100. Bye Bye Bird - Sonny Boy Williamson

Never heard of this. I'll keep it because it's him, but it's not very good IMO.

    101. Lonely Hours - Angelos

Never heard of it. It's decent.

    102. Sugar Sugar - Chuck Willis

Never heard this. I guess he wrote it. I'll stick with the Cadillacs version.

    108. Wherever I Lay My Hat - Marvin Gaye

Never paid attention to it. Just fair, not filing it.

    116. Cut You A-Loose - Ricky Allen

Never heard of it. Sounds FAR ahead of it's time, maybe the first funk record ever, even before "Out Of Sight."

    My 1963 list:

    17 ¦ Sleigh Ride ¦ Ronettes

The stand out track on the excellent Spector Christmas LP and one of the best things he ever produced

    22 ¦ Twist And Shout ¦ Beatles

The best of their early "remakes"---even tho the veins stood out on Lennon's head when they were on TV here with it. The Isleys OTOH did it seemingly effortlessly

38 ¦ Long Gone Daddy ¦ Pat Cupp

I assume this is the different LP version that came out on a Crown LP during this year

    72 ¦ I'm Telling You Now ¦ Freddie & Dreamers

I can't offhand think of another UK act from the 60's that I detest more than these guys. And it's BETTER than "Hello Stranger"? Seriously??

    76 ¦ Catch A Wave ¦ Beach Boys

Later adapted into "Sidewalk Surfin'" for Jan & Dean

    83 ¦ There's A Place ¦ Beatles

One of the best tracks on their debut LP "Please Please Me"

151 ¦ Mean Woman Blues ¦ Roy Orbison

Have I ever mentioned on here how Jerry Lee OWNS this song---lock,stock and fucking barrel!! :)

155 ¦ That's How Heartaches Are Made ¦ Baby Washington

Lotta good records by her but I think I like this one best

    165 ¦ Pamela Jean ¦ Survivors

Wasn't this long thought of as an unissued Beach Boys tracks actually just Brian Wilson and a couple of buddies doing their thing?

I'd go with "Nobody Cares (About Me)," but as you say--lotta good ones.

I would phrase that as the Beatles put much more emotion into it that the Isleys did. The veins standing out is a good thing. It turned the Beatles version into one of the greatest party songs ever.

    72 ¦ I'm Telling You Now ¦ Freddie & Dreamers
I can't offhand think of another UK act from the 60's that I detest more than these guys. And it's BETTER than "Hello Stranger"? Seriously??

You've got "Hey Little Cobra" as better than any Beatles track from 1963. Seriously?

    83 ¦ There's A Place ¦ Beatles
One of the best tracks on their debut LP "Please Please Me"

Not one of the better tracks on that album, the "There's a PLACE...where I CAN GO... get annoying pretty quickly.

151 ¦ Mean Woman Blues ¦ Roy Orbison
Have I ever mentioned on here how Jerry Lee OWNS this song---lock,stock and fucking barrel!! :)

Jerry's version is the 4th best after Elvis, Warren Phillips and Roy.

155 ¦ That's How Heartaches Are Made ¦ Baby Washington
Lotta good records by her but I think I like this one best

I'd go with "The Time," but them again I like 50s music better than you and Diane. Much less production.

    165 ¦ Pamela Jean ¦ Survivors

Wasn't this long thought of as an unissued Beach Boys tracks actually just Brian Wilson and a couple of buddies doing their thing?

I found a copy at a garage sale once and got like $100 for it.
