The blogger's question "Where did they get those chords?" is a good one. You don't hear a lot of the Beatles' chords in Elvis or Chuck Berry.

I have a friend who thought listening to Mozart made people more intelligent. When his son was born, he had Mozart's symphonies playing constantly. The son turns out to have average intelligence.

I don't doubt that people who are drawn to Mozart's work and who appreciate it have above-average IQs, though.

In fact, there are pieces of Mozart's music I can't stand to listen to...one would think if he was all that smart he would have destroyed all evidence of them...such as the Turkish March, Eine Kleine Nacht Musik and the Flute and Harp Concerto!
