    I read somewhere that he gave up on the jazz cigarettes some years ago

    I don't know, however I remember that Heather Mills boasted in the 2000s that she induced McCartney to quit by issuing an "It's me or the weed" ultimatum.

    I didn't believe that he'd actually given it up at that time, but I knew that the McCartney-Mills marriage probably wouldn't be successful.

    Apparently he quit the jazz cigarettes when he became a grandparent. That's what he says. He still smiles the occasional regular cigarette.
