Yoko believed in psychics -- and two of the ones she personally consulted were Frank Andrews and Marlene Weiner. Andrews has spoken in documentaries about his work with Yoko.
Yoko believed in ghosts. She believed her apartment in the Dakota was haunted by the spirit of a previous tenant, the wife of actor Robert Ryan. She hired two different sorcerers to exorcise the alleged spirit.
Yoko believed in witches. While visiting her lover Sam Green in Cartagena, Yoko consulted the local bruja, Nora. They performed numerous rituals including the sacrifice of a dove. There's video of Sam Green discussing these events -- which he
personally declined to participate in -- on Youtube.
Yoko believed in tarot cards. She consulted tarot card reader John Green constantly for over six years, and he wrote a book, Dakota Days, about his experience with the Lennons.
Yoko believed in numerology. Her "number man" was Takashi Yoshikawa, who mentions his years of work with Yoko in the introduction to his book How To Control Your Life By Understanding Ki-Ology.
Yoko believed in reincarnation. With Sam Green's help, she acquired an unopened Egyptian sarcophagus in the belief that it contained an earlier incarnation of herself.
Shortly after Lennon returned to the Dakota in 1975, he greeted May Pang with phials of scented liquid that they were to rub their bodies with. The phial for May contained sulfur. This suggests Yoko was into Santeria -- which happens to have been the
specialty of John Green's mentor, Joey Lukach.
There is a lot more, but this is enough to indicate that Yoko was extremely immersed in superstition.
In the light of this, isn't it disconcerting that, while in throes of her love affair with Sam Green, Yoko instructed Lennon to sail -- in a small and modestly-manned boat -- into Bermuda?
Fascinating...
Odd coincidence...someone else I happened to know, as an exchange student to my school in Fairfield CT, long ago, was also said to be into Santeria...
