I heard recently Mozart's "Rondo alla turca", new to me.
I'm a long time jazz aficianado, familiar with Dave Brubeck's
"Blue rondo a la Turk", with its radical 9/8 time signature.
What's the connection, melodically or rhythmically? I don't hear it.
"Alla turca" normally means it has an unusual amount of percussion
for punctuation.

9/8 is a standard jig measure in classical music. I don't know which
Turkish Rondo you've come across, but doesn't Brubeck in the notes
credit the inspiration for his takeoff?
