Yup. Here in eastern KS we've been pretty lucky with the weather so far.
We just had a couple o' days of cold rain Friday and Saturday, but prior
to that we've had temps in the 70s! I got some riding in before the rain
came. Went west from the KC area on HW-56 and cruised until I had been
on the road for half the time I allotted for riding that day. I wanted
to get back home before dusk and avoid the stupid hooved forest rats
that come out about then and leap out in front of cars and motorcycles,
so I planned on getting home by 6:00 PM. Stopped on the side of the road
in the middle of nowhere near Marion, KS and ate a Clif bar, drank some
water, turned around and went home. 278 miles.
Stopped right here if yer interested. Note the beautiful scenery! <grin>

I had new "tahrs" put on both ends a few days before that ride. I needed
to wear some of those little tire tits off of 'em before Winter sets in, dontcha know. I heard that leaving them on will decrease your MPG and
make it hard to find neutral. (Had to make up a good reason to ride.
<grin> )
Changed oil about 500 miles ago, so it's probably OK until Spring.
