My GP100 is loaded, cocked, and jammed and I have no idea what to do. I don't want
to transport it to a gunsmith or anywhere else in that state. What do I do? I have
a photo but I can't see a way to upload it.

[MODERATOR: Potentially there is insight on repair by knowing how it came
to be this way, and presumably you got it home from a range without
incident (so far so good.) Next best step for the moment: **call* a
gunsmith local to you and have him work through with you how to move
forward. Then just do what he says. This might involve taking a cable
tie (or similar) and binding it between hammer and frame so it can't
fall before it is looked at, but let the local guy diagnose further. ]

    1) Treat every gun as loaded, including a jammed one.
    2) Do not muzzle anything you are not willing to destroy, even a jammed one.

What is jammed about the gun? The hammer? The cylinder? ?

Call Ruger and ask them what to do. It's their gun and they have dealt
with this before, and know the proper way to handle/resolve and/or clear
    for shipping/repair.
