No idea but I was curious as I have the older .308 BLR and read review
on Cabela's that magazines Browning now sell on site for $99 ($80 at Cabela's) will not fit the older BLR. Never bought a second one as they
were maybe $30 forty years ago which I thought was outrageous then.
Great gun but companies should be more considerate of customer needs.

# I bought a second magazine when I got the gun. The second magazine was stamped "243" while
# the one that came with the gun was stamped "308". The guy at the gun store said that both
# would hold the .308 Winchester as the case of the cartridges was the same for both calibers.
#
# It turns out that the one stamped "308" tends to jam on the third cartridge while the one
# stamped "243" fires all four cartridges without any problems. There is no visual difference
# between the two, so I have no idea why one jams and the other doesn't.

The new model magazines do not look like the old one on my BLR so I
assume none would fit. I quit hunting and have not shot the BLR in
years but if I lost the one magazine I would have a problem. They
should sell them with two. Browning is not the only company that sells firearms with one magazine.
