Hi All,
My "2 EUROPEAN BLUEBERRY BILBERRY" plants
finally fruited after four years.
The fruit is bitter and sour. I spit them out.
And that is easy to do and they contain a round
pit the size and hardness of buckshot (a small pea).
Methinks I mistakenly planted an ornamental variety.
I could not find descriptions of pits with a web
search.
Anyway it is being removed this year.
Your thoughts as to a replacement? Zone 6B.
Many thanks,
-T

Common name are unreliable, but I don't think you have a bilberry at all. Vaccinium species have small seeds distriibuted in the fruit, not single pits.
I even made the seller give me the Latin name.
I noticed he is not in business. Four years
down the dumper.

Or it was an accidental swap without any malice on the seller's part.
... lot can happen in 4 years as well :/
