I had an awesome surprise this afternoon . A hive I thought was dead
has bees ! I'm not sure if they survived last winter or if they're a
swarm from another hive but I'm happy !
they're facinating creatures. :)
a hive from the wild would be interesting.
how often do you inspect them?

Not as often as I probably should , I have to admit . My philosophy
is that the bees have been doing their thing for thousands of years ...
I've been doing this for ten . I do need to have a look now though , get
a handle on whether I need to do some splits . I'd rather focus on honey production this year , we haven't harvested any for 3 or 4 years .
Mother Nature has not been kind to the bees here lately , weather
conditions have not been favorable for nectar production .
